Pink Glitter Gradient Nails

Hello loves.  Here is another glitter gradient look that I created.  I wore this to the wedding I had to attend earlier this month.  I used my Maybelline polish in Crushed Shells for the base color and my Sinful Colors polish in Pinky Glitter to create the glitter gradient.
 Pink Glitter Gradient Nails
Very girly.  It didn't turn out as pink as I had imagined it would-but still very good.  It's more of a pink-coral combo instead, but no matter. ^_^

Also, I'm planning on doing a 50 follower give-away pretty soon, so stay posted for pictures and more information!

Skintimate!

Hey ladies!  I wanted to show you all this new shaving cream that I bought! This is Skintimate's Moisturizing Cream Shave.  I bought this in conjunction with some Secret deodorant and some buy-one-get-one-free couponing deal a while ago.
This is a non-lathering shaving cream, which is very different than from what I am used to.  I have used this all throughout September and I think that I personally prefer lathering shaving creams to this.  If I were to compare this formula to something- it would be to hair conditioner.  It's exactly like shaving with hair conditioner.  Honestly.  I would rather shave with hair conditioner actually because it is thicker than this particular formula.  I find that it is very slippery and it makes me nervous when holding my razor, for fear that one wrong slip could send blood down the drain.

I think it smells awesome though.  It is infused with soy and olive butter to give you silky smooth legs.  I have to admit-my legs were touchably smooth after the shower.  But, shaving will do that anyways because it also sloughs away dead skin in the process.

I also like the packaging- the flower petal design on the bottom of the bottle is cute and convenient.  It snaps open and shut and is a squeeze bottle. It also stands on the flower bottom in your shower, so you don't have any nasty rusty rings in the tub.

Would I repurchase?  No, probably not.  I like the packaging but I would rather that my shaving cream be lathered.  What do you think?

NYC Quick Dry Polish-Canal Street

Hello dolls.  Here is the mani that I am currently rockin'.  This is NYC's quick dry polish in Canal Street- another .72 cent polish from Walmart with a little couponing.  But these won't put a dent in your pocket either at just $1.72 for a bottle at your local Walmart.

A great vampy color for fall.  It is a deep, rich, brandy color with tons of shimmer running through it. And here it is on my nails:

I must say, that wear time on these NYC polishes are rather impressive for me.  I got sick of the color before it chipped. lol.

Sinful Colors-Envy & Call You Later

Hey dolls.  How is everyone?  Here is my current mani:
I used two coats of Sinful Colors Envy and did one layer of Call You Later on my accent finger.
 Sinful Colors in Envy
Sinful Colors in Call You Later

Envy is a beautiful jade green.  It is a creme color so two coats for opacity is all you really need.
Call You Later is a glitter bomb jam packed with different colored green and gold glitter.  It reminds me of St. Patrick's day. ^_^  Or since I live in Wisconsin, the Packers.

Overall, Envy is a lovely green color, one that I would reach for again and again.  I love how it is such a distinct and unique color.

September Dollar Tree Finds

Hello loves!  Here is what I picked up from the Dollar Tree this month:

 1. Bra Clips
These are the generic kind obviously, but curious to see how they actually clip onto the straps to keep them in place.  Yay to no more visible bra straps!
2. NYC Extreme Lip Glider lipgloss in Big Apple Red
The long and slender tube makes for chic packaging.  Slant tip applicator with twist off top.  Leaves lips extra shiny but not very pigmented.
Swatches: Big Apple Red
3.  Elf Super Glossy Lip Shine
Will prob end up giving these away in the future so no swatches. Sorry!  ^_^
Elf lip glosses: Watermelon, Honey Do, Pink Kiss
4.  Luminessence mini candles in Sugar Cookie
Smells so good for such a tiny price!

Maybelline -The Falsies Mascara Flared

This was another recent mascara purchase, Maybelline The Falsies Mascara, flared.  That was a mouthful.  :)
Anyways, I had seen a lot of advertising for this mascara and I was curious- no false lashes needed?  Really?  But I love false lashes!
The mascara comes in the standard plastic tubing, but I like the angel wings on the wand.  Girly.  I was also surprised at the notch on the wand.  Was it supposed to be there?  I had to Google pictures to make sure that mine wasn't defected. lol.  It wasn't.  What is the purpose of the notch you say?  Well, to be honest, I don't really know.  I would guess that it is there to give some leeway to your lashes while you are applying- letting the wand yield to your lashes almost.

The brush itself is huge.  I always manage to get some mascara on the underside of my lid from it.  It's easy enough cleanup with a little bit of water and a q-tip, but still annoying.  I just have really small eyes.
The formula is nice-not too dry and not too wet.  I do use several coats of this when I am applying it and though it does clump a little bit, a wave of the lash comb manages to separate them.  What I don't really like is how the mascara applies itself to the very tip of my lashes and clumps them up.  I end up picking the little flecks off with my fingers at the end.

I also go over the mascara with my heated Avon lash curler that I bought at the beginning of the year to finish off my look.  What I like about this mascara is that it doesn't melt off onto the lash curler like my other mascara did.  It stays put and doesn't leave my lashes crunchy or flakey.

Overall, I don't like how it applies to the tips of my lashes and doesn't really define each lash.  It clumps them up instead.  I would much rather use my Rimmel London Lash Accelerator instead than reach for this.

Hugs & butterfly kisses,

Rimmel London-Airy Fairy Lipstick

I have heard a lot about this lipstick, and managed to finally snag one that wasn't open or swatched at Walgreens.  I paid full price for this one *shock*  which was around $6.

Airy Fairy is a nude pink color. Very creamy but I think it looks slightly frosty on me.  To be honest, I didn't like it very much at first.  I thought it was too pale and didn't work on my skin tone.  But then I tossed it into my makeup bag while I was in Milwaukee for a wedding and I ended up rather liking it with my pink NYX liner underneath.
Rimmel London lipstick in Airy Fairy
This is the lipstick just by itself.  It is a very pretty color in the tube.  I like the neutral pink that it is.  I have already reviewed other Rimmel lipsticks here so I won't go into depth with this one.

So, what do you think?  Is this a must-have color from this line?  Do you have this color?  I think that it has rather grown on me. ^_^

Forever love,

Caboodles

Hello loves!  I wanted to share with you my new Caboodles case that I bought.  This is a bright purple, hard case that has a double zipper all the way around.  Unfortunately, my camera makes this look more blue than it really is.  This case looks and feels like pleather, which I don't really mind.  It is also about an inch and a half thick.
It has a compartment on the top for brushes and a little mirror inside the lid.  The case is lined with polka dotted satin.
Currently, I am storing two of my double sided make up brushes in here.  (By the way, I don't know how to effectively  store my double sided brushes- do you have a great way to store?  Leave me a comment.)

This case was only $5 at Wal-mart.  I like to it because it is a hard case, which means it won't get smushed in my bags when I'm traveling.  This case is perfect to store liners and lip glosses.  I actually stored some jewelry in here when I went to Chicago and I didn't have to worry about it getting tangled or lost in my other bags.  This is such a nice addition to my other make up cases and I'm really glad I found it for such a nice price.  I really like it because it is a hard top case and not so flimsy.  Really nice and sturdy.

The last time I was in Walmart, they still had a couple of these left and in different colors.  If you are a Caboodles fan, I would suggest that you snatch one of these up before they are all gone.

Canoodles of love,

Blot, blot, blot!

Hello loves.  Today I am showing you one of my must-have items.  Oil blotting sheets.  For as long as I can remember, I have had an oily t-zone.  There is nothing that I have tried that can remedy this; no powder or gel that can make me stay matte all day long. So I blot.

These blotting sheets are from Elf and are only one dollar a piece.  They come in these little cardboard packs and there are 50 blotting sheets in each pack.  The sheets are very thin and transparent, but one is all you really need.
What it claims:
  • Absorbs oil and shine
  • Mattifies shiny skin
  • Pore minimizer
  • Woven texture eliminates shine and keeps skin matte for hours
  • Green tea extract helps re-texturize skin and mask facial imperfections

 Once opened
One oil blotting sheet from Elf
These babies are so effective at picking up all the extra oil off my face.  Once you press them onto the skin and you pull away from your face, you can see the results.  These are also a big deal for me because you can use both sides of the sheet.

I have to be honest though and say that I have seen no pores minimized nor does it really mask any imperfections per say, but it does clean up oil really nice.  I think that these are a cheaper alternative than other oil blotting sheets and they are just as effective.
Can you see the oil blot on this sheet?  Gross right?  But effective.  ;)  If you're an oily gal like me, I would suggest that you give these a try rather than shelling out $3 and up on pricier brands.

Blots of love,
